Andy’s remit is to build on the momentum of the ‘Positive Coaching Scotland’ Accreditation and adopt & adapt an on field draft development plan to address integration between the junior & senior sections on & off the pitch.
Andy has been involved, with the support of many others, in the development of the PCS Accreditation for our club and this appointment is a development of this process. Key priorities will be developed to identify actions that we need to take to capitalise on the recent progress and develop a sustainable plan for the future well-being of our club. It is hoped that the membership will respond and provide the support and encouragement Andy will need to realise these aims.
Andy’s priorities will include
• Develop a Junior Development Programme to ensure an improved transition between u16 to U18 and U18 to Senior rugby
• Enhance the Colts coaching set-up to produce young players ready to play senior rugby.
• Build on Coaches Meetings & Workshops as well as ‘Invitational Coaches’ sessions through the Club Coach Co-ordinator role.
• Develop a clear remit for club coaches by age group of the achievable competencies of their players by the end of their age group. Basically, building a ‘coaching ‘curriculum’ for their players. This will include adult players.
