An early goal by Jack Edwards put Cobentry Sphinx in the driving seat and when Robinson was sent to the changing rooms for an off the ball incident things looked bleak for the home side. When Coventry doubled there lead just before the break it looked like the top of the table side were going to romp to victory but a spirited second half Dunkirk performance saw them first pull a goal back in the 57th minute by Ryan Ejezie and now with Coventry looking shaky it was skipper Rob McCormick that popped up to lift the ball over the goalkeeper to level the scores for his side. Coventry now looked to be stunned by this Dunkirk fightback but almost from the restart they quickly regained their lead to completely rip the heart out of this spirited fightback as Edwards was left unmarked to head the ball in at the far post. Coventry though wasnt done here as Williams also claimed his second goal of the afternoon to again leave Dunkirk falling short.
