History

Dunlop RFC were formed in 1925 to provide rugby for employees of the Dunlop Company in Coventry. Dunlop are one of the original 'works' sides in Coventry and have over the many years been an extremely successful side. On many occasions, Dunlop were finalists in the old works cup competition, which at the time was the only cup competition in Warwickshire. In more recent seasons, Dunlop have made six appearances in the Warwickshire Shield final and had a colts team compete in the semi-finals of the national colts cup. Finally in season 2008/2009 Dunlop ascended to the final of the Warwickshire cup competition where they were eventually beaten by local rivals and fourteen times finalists Broadstreet. In season 2009/2010 Dunlop became the first local Coventry side to reach a Twickenham final, eventually losing to Brighton in the RFU Senior Vase competition. And now following back to back titles in the Midlands Divisions we have the club playing for the first time in Midlands West Division 1.

Over the years, Dunlop have provided players for the Coventry and Mid Warwickshire district union, Warwickshire, Midlands and have had some players go on for full country representative honours. Most recently providing a player for the Scotland under 20 squad. Dunlop have also provided a wealth of players to some of the senior clubs in the area including Coventry, Nuneaton and Rugby.

Dunlop provide rugby facilities for players of all abilities, and ages and pride ourselves on providing extremely competitive rugby through our 1st XV to more social rugby at the lower levels. More recently we have been fielding junior sides at under 17 age group.

Dunlop's playing facilities are second to none, two full size playing pitches. A training environment which is provided with flood lights, a modern scrummaging machine and all necessary training equipment. We also of course provide players with excellent coaching staff.

Being extremely close to M6 junction 3, Dunlop is easily accessible both for local players as well as visiting teams.
