DUNS RFC CHARITY DAY
DUNS RFC ARE GOING TO BE RAISING MONEY FOR HELP FOR HEROES AND NEED YOUR HELP!
Duns RFC Second Row Duncan Budge is to undertake a huge challenge later on this year,
Accompanied by 12 others he will attempt to cycle from Newcastle to Llanelli in Wales (just over 500 miles). The trip is split over 5 days (Newcastle to York; York to Nottingham; Nottingham to Worcester, Worcester to Brecon, Brecon to Llanelli)
This is a huge ask from anyone and we at the club think Duncan deserves as much support as he can get!
At the last home game of the season (Duns vs Ross High) on the 3rd of March , Duns RFC are hosting a fundraising day to raise much needed funds for "Help For Heroes" Anyone eishing more information about the charity can find it on the this link

The morning of the match all the Duns RFC Senior Squad will start the fundraising by running a car wash from 9am-12pm,
All Money collected on the gate at the match in the charity buckets at the game which will be going around will also be donated, as will all the money made after the match through raffles and games etc...
As well as this Sportsworld have kindly gave us some kit to sell in aid of our fantastic cause, any money made on the merchandise, which will be a arrangement of fleeces, rugby shirts, t-shirt and other clothing in all shapes and sizes, will go straight to our Help for Heroes total
Duns R.F.C are also having a fancy dress disco after the last home game of the season on sat the 3rd of March starting at 7.30pm and since it's for Help for Heroes... the fancy dress is anything to do with the Army/Navy/RAF. Please come and support this as it will be a great night and its for a fantastic cause!
This is a great charity and we really hope you will get behind the team and especially Duncan Budge for this truly worthwhile cause. Duncan also has sponsorship forms if anyone would like to sponsor him personally

Can i take this opportunity to thank Duns Rfc and Duncan for the great news that you are making your game on March 3rd, a charity day for Help for Heroes.
The challenge that Duncan is doing is called the ToontoTown challenge and as you say is from Newcastle to my birthplace Llanelli. I first organised this 2 yrs ago as a way of raising money and to date £6500 has been raised for charity. This year we have set a target of £10,000 in new funds and have chosen Help for Heroes as the nominated charity
When we arrive in Llanelli, we will be the guests of The Scarlets RFC and we will take in the Scarlets v Cardiff Blues game. The Scarlets fully support our challenge and last year Gareth Jenkins cycled the last leg with us and we were met by Phil Bennett
We leave Tyneside on Tuesday May 1st and arrive on Saturday May 5th and if anyone wishes to follow the progress, we have a facebook page Toontotown 3 that will be open during the ride and also a twitter page @toontotown
Can i wish you good luck in your remaining games and please look after Duncan. He is a valuable member of the team and we want him in one piece for the cycle ride. On behalf of everyone involved with the Toontotown challenge, can i thank you for your kindness and the offer of support. Help for Heroes is a great charity and i am sure that your day on March 3rd will make Duns Rfc, Duncan and Help for Heroes very proud
