It was a brilliant day for running rugby and that was exactly what was done at Netherdale at the annual girls rugby festival,
teams from all over the borders were formed and Eyemouth found themselves in a pool with Kelso, Hawick and Berwick.
The girls had a remarkable performance against Berwick winning by 2-1
They then followed this up with another win over Kelso by 3-2.
Their day was then completed by a 2-2 draw with Hawick
considering the only coaching the girls had had before this event was a 30 minute crash course from David Hutchison and Steven Mutch, they really do deserve a huge congratulations for winning their group.
the girls were then given the option of playing a game of full contact game mixed through with all the other girls from all the other areas and 2 full contact games of 7's were formed. special mention must go to Kaitlyn Shell who scored 5 tries in the 7 minute game...a force to be reckoned with
of the 10 girls who took part 9 of them scored tries which shows great team work and running ability! lets hope this is the start of a new team at Eyemouth High School
