Following his selection to the Scotland Under-18 squad, where he made a try-scoring debut from the bench against England and then started against Ireland, Duns Colts player Iain Sim has been selected in the Scotland Under 18 squad for the FIRA European Championships which get under way in France this weekend.
A squad of 26 players has been chosen by Scotland for the tournament, which will be held in the Rhone-Alpes region of eastern France.
There are three groups of 8 teams taking part in the championships, with Scotland in the elite group along with England, Ireland, France, Wales, Italy, Georgia and Portugal. Scotland play Wales in their first match on friday evening, with each team guaranteed three matches to determine the places from first to eighth. The winner plays the winner of England v Portugal, with the loser playing the loser of that match.
Scotland's first match will be held in the town of Moirans, a little to the north west of Grenoble, at 5 pm local time.
