Wins for both Firsts and Seconds

2 years ago, By Derek Simpson

Major milestones reached in both matches

The First XV defeated Hawick Linden by 32 - 13 yesterday in the RBS Border Shield, while the Second XV won by 93 - 22 at Dalkeith Seconds in the RBS Reserve League, and match reports will be posted as soon as possible.

Major milestones were reached in both matches. Over at Hawick, David Hutchison's brace of tries were his 99th and 100th scores for the First XV making him only the third Duns player to achieve that feat.

Up at Dalkeith, Iain Sim scored no fewer than 8 tries for the Seconds in their 93 - 22 thumping of Dalkeith, the most tries in a single match by any Duns senior player ever. The achievement was all the more remarkable when one learns that Simmy had scored 6 by half time, and was then substituted in order to give the whole squad of players some time on the field. He returned to the pitch with 15 minutes remaining and promptly scored 2 more !
