With Penclawdd losing 38-14 at Felinfoel last night, the final relegation slot is now between Aberystwyth on 43 points and Penclawdd on 39, both with only the one game left to play. Penclawdd travel to face 2nd placed Crymych who are in a fight with Felinfoel for the second promotion slot, so are up against it. Aberystwyth may be already safe but only victory can guarantee their survival before the rest of Saturday’s results are known.
Aberystwyth were stunned to lose 53-0 at Broadacre last September , their biggest defeat of the season and have won their last two games at Plascrug with a decisive win over relegation rivals Penclawdd last Saturday. Rest assured they will be up for this one.
Finally, congratulations to Builth Wells who last night secured the Division 2 West Championship with a 47-16 victory over Maesteg.
