John was devoted to all things Dunvant R.F.C. , played for the Dunvant youth, was Captain in 1958-9 and later Coach of our 1st XV. He also had spells with Gorseinon and Neath. John is a former Chairman and Life Member of the club and will be remembered for when a number of players defected to Gorseinon several years ago, John mounted a recruitment campaign around Dunvant and Killay without which the club may well have folded. Also a life time member of Dunvant Male Choir, John leaves a widow Miriam, children Richard and Sarah and their families. John had deteriorating health for the last 18 months and unfortunately picked up a chest infection last weekend from which he was unable to recover. Dunvant R.F.C. extend their condolences to John’s family and we will hold a 1 minute silence in John’s memory before Saturday’s game against Ystalyfera..
