Dunvant RFC are sad to announce the passing of our former Committee member & Child Protection Officer & ex Lib Dem Councillor Nick Tregoning

Nick has struggled with ill health for some time and retired from Dunvant RFC Committee due to ill health 2 years ago. Nick loved everything Dunvant and Rugby related and did everything he could for us in spite of a heavy political workload. Born a Cornish man where he developed his love of rugby as a passionate Cornish Pirates supporter, Nick got a BA at Manchester University. Nick eventually moved to Dunvant where he became heavily involved in political life as a Lib Dem Councillor for Dunvant Ward and Swansea City Council. In spite of his workload, Nick joined our Committee and also acted as Child Protection Officer for our Junior Section and was a member of our 201 Club. When NIck lost his council seat to Labour he worked as Constituency Manager for Peter Black A.M. Nick has struggled with ill health for a while and sadly passed away last week aged 66.
Nick leaves son Hugh, a former 1st team physio at Dunvant Rugby Club, son James and daughter Sarah, along with nine grandchildren.
The funeral arrangements will be advised as soon as they are known.
Dunvant RFC send condolences to all the Tregoning family at this very sad time. A one minute silence in memory of Nick and 4 other members we have lost recently will be held prior to our home league fixture against Llangennech R.F.C. this Saturday at 2.30 p.m.
