This Saturday our Senior Squad now host local rivals BONYMAEN in our 1st pre season ‘friendly’ with Mumbles having withdrawn
Dunvant are grateful to Bonymaen for stepping into the breach and we look forward to a testing workout for the boys. It is ironic that our last game of last season saw Dunvant 2nd XV lift the Swansea District Vaughan Sound Cup in a thrilling encounter winning 25-19 against Bonymaen at Waunarlwydd. Rest assured, both sides will be competitive this Saturday as they try to shake off the summer rust.
The Bonymaen game is followed by another home fixture on 12th August against Aberavon Quins, also, like Bonymaen old rivals from Division 1 West Central.
Our final pre-season is now an away trip to Swansea Uplands (Div 3 West Central A) on Saturday 19th August which will be another tough workout in spite of the difference in leagues, Dunvant Youth will host Risca Youth at Broadacre that day.
On Saturday 26th our Senior Squad will have a Team Social day .
Don’t forget Memberships are now due, so pay up to get your Gate Passes in time for the big season kick off with a home league game against Crymych RFC on Saturday 2nd September. We have a change in the 1st XV coaching team with Gareth ‘Skills’ Williams having stepped down and former Club Captain Mitchell Ford stepping up as Player/Coach.
Nathan Vaughan takes over the Club Captaincy and we wish Mitch and Nathan every success in their new roles.
You can get the full fixture list as it stands for the 1st Xv, 2nd XV and Youth by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. You can also get the Membership Application Form here as well.
