Cirencester 0 v Dursley Vixens 5

Dursley continued their impressive start to the season with a convincing 5-0 victory over Cirencester.

Cirencester made the better start, distributing the ball well out of midfield throughout the first quarter. However, once player of the match Kayleigh Daniels clicked with Annie Morris down the right, things looked more ominous – Liz Searle just missing out on 2 good crosses by Morris.
Ellie Towler had a great game in the midfield, setting up Charlie Pretty to score the opener on 13 minutes. The second was not far behind, as Searle made a great pass to Pretty, who in turn flicked on to Towler whose pin point pass enabled Molly Auckett to sweep home from close range.

Dursley took custardy of the ball for long periods of the second half. Daniels continued to play with confidence, regularly working the ball out of defence, before supplying the midfield with good ball to work with. Midfield general Hattie Dent looked strong as ever, running hard at the home defence before laying off to Searle who scored at the second attempt to make it 3-0.

A series of short corners kept Cirencester pinned in their own area, but their defence just would not crumble. However, the aggression of Dent [proved too much in the end as she bludgeoned her way through to score a well deserved goal.

The final goal came in the closing minutes as Towler flicked on another accurate cross by Morris down the right, which Liz Searle managed to deflect past a stranded goal keeper.

It could have been 6 right on the final whistle, Searle just missing out on a hat-trick as she failed to get the finest of touches need to deflect a rocket of a cross from the left.
