The Earlsdon Under 16's had to play players out of position and it paid off with a fine win.
The red and whites took the game to Leamington from the off and but for some great last gasps tackles from Leamington Earlsdon could have been three tries up in the first ten minutes. On 13 minutes prop Danny Bainbridge had to come off with a chipped tooth, being replaced by Callum Harris. On 15 minuets against the run of play Leamington opened the scoring with a fine break away try. Earlsdon still kept the pressure on and on the last play of the half Earlsdon won the line-out and shipped it out to the backs for top try scorer Kier Williams to go over in the corner. Andy Bowyer missed the conversion.
Half-time: Leamington 5 - 5 Earlsdon
The second half started with Earlsdon on the front foot and looking for their second try. On 55 minutes Andy Bowyer put the kick mid way in the 22 from a penalty. The strength of the red and whites pack paid off with a text book line-out and drive from 10 metres for captain Nick Mckissock to drop over in the corner. Andy Bowyer then shocked everyone with a fantastic kick from the touchline. Leamington kept the pressure on Earlsdon, but with some strong tackles going in especially from Tim and Taylor the red and whites kept them out. On 60 minutes more great work from the pack and good work from stand in scrum half Josh Potter and centre Ryan Coates they gave Kier his second of the game. Andy Bowyer missed the conversion. The game was played in great spirit with no quarter asked or given from both teams.
