FIRST TEAM AWAY AT SHRIVENHAM WHILST THE RESERVES PLAY AT HOME

The first team travel away to Shrivenham this afternoon whilst the reserves are at home playing against Clanfield 85 Reserves.

First team manager Darren Beckett will be looking for another good performance after picking up all the points last week at home. Last season Sports won away from home against "Shrivvy" with a solitary goal from Ryan Markham and know they will be stepping into the unknown again this afternoon. During the early stages of the season players from both sides have family commitments and holidays at this level of football and in the Wiltshire area there has been much change with Hellenic Division stalwarts Parton having to accept demotion due to ground grading issues. There is a real pool of players in the area in and around Shrivenham and so the management team will not be taking the game lightly.

The Reserves will look to get back to winning ways in the Hellenic Division 2 west this afternoon. There has been much change with the talented reserves last year being replaced by Sports' super successful Under 18s in the main. As one team naturally moves on this opens doors for another good crop of players and so Easington are hopeful that another promising season lies ahead. There is now a greater connection between first and reserve teams which was one of the primary aims of the season which will be crucial to the success of the first team and the adult section as a whole. Players returning from holiday and absence due to family and work commitments during the season will be able to get a game whilst also sharing their experience with the youth players which will be invaluable as the club looks to bring through talent into the first team.

If Shrivenham is too far... why not watch the reserves and then enjoy Stoke vs Arsenal after the game at 5.30pm!
