Under 9's secure Butlins Minehead victory

This weekend provided an opportunity for teams from Easington Sports Under 8's and Under 9's to take part in the ESF Tour at Butlins Minehead.

The under 9's were returning having lost in last years final in a penalty shoot out.

The ESFC U8's put in some great performances and stunned everyone with an incredible high scoring victory. This allowed them to progress into the semi final. In the semi final they lead 1-0 only to lose narrowly 3-1.

ESFC U8's Reds played some great football in a difficult group and provided their supporters with some great memories, especially during a game when they won with the last kick of the game.

Both under 8 teams can be pleased with their efforts and will come back next year having enjoyed the experience.

ESFC u9's dominated their group, only conceding one goal which was a speculative punt by Sedgley Scorpions from inside their own half which caught the wind. In the semi final Sports played some excellent football against Leighton United ensuring they progressed. In the final sports played against Kings Heath Warriors. A stunning run and cross by Sonny Goode was volleyed in spectacularly by Harvey Colson. Best goal all weekend. Kings Heath came straight back as the rain fell and drove in an equaliser from outside the box with Zack Godfrey unsighted. Sonny Goode then immediately won the ball back and fed Freddie Milner. Some quick feet and skills by Freddie got the ball to Lucas Hunter who beat his player and shot hard and low from outside the box to seal the win.

The boys played some excellent football and all of the squad can be proud of their performance in getting the win which received plaudits from other teams / officials.

This was a great experience for players, parents and managers who all represented the club to a high standard.

A special mention to Phil Lines who provided the club pennants.
