A 95TH MINUTE EQUALISER FROM THE CLANFIELD 85 FC IN THE LAST KICK OF THE GAME.

In the first home match of the season for Sports, it was certainly the visitors who went away from this match more pleased with a point after a typical Hellenic league encounter between these sides. Goals from Andrew Stidder and Adil Hussain (Pictured) were not enough as Easington rue lapses in concentration that let the visitors back into the game.

The first half was entertaining without either side creating clear cut chances of note as both defensives remained on top for the majority of the half. The home side built up spells of pressure and looked to be a real threat at set pieces which Clanfield uncomfortably defending at times. Mike Spaull and Josh Northam offered good width to the attacks for Easington and eventually the break did come for Sports in the 41st minute. A shot from a corner was not cleared far enough and Andrew Stidder was first to the bouncing ball and he smashed the ball high into the net to make it 1-0 to Easington at half time.

Sports were more comfortable in the second half and again looked to use the pace of the front three to stretch the Clanfield defence. Josh Northam showed good feet before cutting inside from the right hand side only to see his left foot shot fly just past the post. Mike Spaull also had a chance to double the advantage minutes later. Spaull managed to pinch the ball before the Clanfield keeper could gather on the edge of the box but unfortunately, he could not manage to finish and with defenders on the line he shot over. Clanfield were restricted to half chances on the break and with the match still only 1-0 they were always in the game. Frustratingly for Sports, Clanfield managed to score from their only shots on goal in the second half. Chester Dolisznvj managed to scramble home an equaliser in the last 10 minutes of the match. Phil Lines sent on Ben Milner and Adil Hussain and the pair linked up well with Andrew Stidder to give Easington the lead close to full time. Milner was on hand to flick onto Andrew Stidder and when his shot was saved down low by the keeper, Hussain was first to the rebound and rolled the ball into the net from the edge of the box. Clanfield came back and scored in the 95th minute after attacking down the right. A ball to the back post was taken well by Callum Miller and Jack Goode was unable to keep the ball from creeping into the net.

Sports will need to defend much better next week when they travel to Hellenic League pace setters Fairford Town where lapses in concentration will certainly be punished again.
