Eastbourne fielded sides for both boys and girls, U10 and U12.

The Eastbourne U10 boys fielding two teams finished third and fourth, the U12 girls finished second and it was the Eastbourne Junior Girls U10 and U12 boys who were triumphant on this occasion. This was the seasons first junior tournament held at The Saffrons Sports Club. Competition organiser Malcolm McNeill was delighted to award two Eastbourne sides with the winners medals.

The U10 girls won all of their matches with the most superb team performance. A lovely group of girls with Captain Amelia Tait as centre midfield leading the way, securing the majority of goals with her silky skills and determination. She was ably assisted by Rosie Clay as right wing who slotted a few away great stuff Rosie, Mary another goal scorer and Milly Taylor super defending and assisting, Ella Paneyootou had great left wing skills as a newcomer, Tianna Coley, super hitting out as left defender, Megan Linden unbeatable right defender (including her best friend the hat!) and Jasmine Wright fabulous left wing positioning. A very promising start to the season, well done girls and keep it going.

The U12 boys fielded two equal teams and managed an amazing third and first place. After the girls had settled for a spot of cake eating, the boys had to suffer the inclement weather for the remainder of the afternoon!!

Having secured first and second place in their respective groups the Eastbourne U12 boys A and B team had to take on each other to secure a place in the final. It was so close and with a 0-0 draw after extra time it was down to flicks!

A very proud, yet tense set of parents witnessed ups and downs bravery and commitment and on the second round of flicks superbly placed push to the left corner by Chris Arrecco had the A team neck and neck an unfortunate miss from B team and then Jamie Clay slotted the ball past the keeper to give the A team passage to the final.

They battled through against Horsham A Sam and Will defended well and it was Jamie Clay who secured the winning goal after a fantastic team build up. Team: Lucas Morrison in goal (great saves), Chris Arrecco (great fitness and skills), Will Read (top solid defending), Jamie Clay (great vision and strike), Luke Stevens (excellent positioning), Scott Gilbert King (work rate and fab positioning), Sam Linden (determined defence) and Luke Drakeley (great team work).
