We would like to take this opportunity to announce the appointment of Ashley Wigman to the critical role of Head of Rugby with immediate effect.
Most of you already know Ashley who has been our appointed Rugby Development Officer for the past season and involved within the Club for a number of years, consistently supporting, proactively assigning himself to key areas in which to continue to improve and develop ensuring we at Eastbourne RFC supply an enjoyable Rugby experience and to ensure we operate within the RFU Continuum. Ashley’s engagement with local schools has contributed to an increase to our playing members, our Coaches development programme increased with having an additional 6 qualified Level 2 Coaches by the end of the summer 2018.
This appointment is to continue to strengthen our growth and to ensure we have the right people in the right positions to support all our Members, Coaches and support personnel. I am sure you will all welcome and support Ashley in his new role.
As the previous Head of Rugby I shall be fully supporting Ashley for the next year so you haven’t managed to get rid of me that easily but alongside the support and oversee of the Head of Rugby, I will continue and focus on my other roles as Director, Vice Chairman, Safeguarding Officer and provide support and focus to our Colts section and working on introducing a Women’s & Girls section at the Club.
This will mean a few changes but with no impact to the operation or growth of the Club and I am confident that I will pass the baton of Head of Rugby to someone who will be just as passionate as myself and continue to support and work along yourselves growing our Club and indeed our great sport.
Again, thank-you for your continued effort and support.
