ERFC Committed to its Community

Eastbourne Rugby Football Club recently donated enough equipment to allow a full class to play tag rugby during their timetabled physical education lessons as the school can see the vast benefits of involving their pupils in the sport can bring. Eastbourne RFC believes that to help the growth of the game, community engagement within local schools is paramount. Head of Rugby Ash Wigman states "We are fully committed to all local schools and clubs and having recently been involved in many other local schools, and with other schools booked in we believe that not just our club but other local clubs have benefited which is magical".

Mrs Guy from Pashley Down School was the instrumental driving force linking the school to ERFC commented,

"The school was overwhelmed with the generosity of kit supplied to us by ERFC. This included 30 rugby balls, tag belts, cones and bibs. This kit will ensure that we can continue to provide fun activities in Rugby, focusing on fundamental movement which in turn will contribute to Pashley’s children’s physical, cognitive and social development. At Pashley we share the core values of the England Rugby of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship with our Koala of kindness, which can be seen in the photo, which works on the notion of respect and being kind to others"
