There is currently a desperate shortage of Referees in the Sussex Society, as many of you will have discovered when your lower team games go uncovered and you have to find a willing body to officiate your game.

As no games have been cancelled through lack of a referee, there must be bodies out there with the ability to blow the whistle and give players a fulfilling afternoon. It is good fun, keeps you involved in the game and gives no little satisfaction when you have enabled thirty players to have had an enjoyable afternoon, even if they may not have agreed with all your decisions.

The need for Referees is URGENT and I attach two posters, the first of which I should be grateful if you could print out and display on your notice boards, in the changing rooms, and anywhere else where it will catch the eye, and the second, which is an interactive poster, allowing you to book online for the various Sussex Courses that enable people to hone their skills and receive expert tuition, whether working with children, coaching or refereeing. Perhaps both these posters could be sent out to your database of members for those that use e-mail to communicate with the Club.

As Lord Kitchener once said "Your Game Needs You", or something like that!
