Recruiting new referees for your county – Sussex

The Sussex Society of Rugby Union Football Referees (SSRFUR) has embarked on a programme to recruit ex players and coaches, at any age level and of both sexes, to take up refereeing in Sussex.

At the Sussex Clubs’ Annual (all day) Conference due to held at Ardingly College on Sunday 17th April, the Referees’ Society will be giving a short presentation on the recruitment and retention of Referees and how it affects the clubs.

Your club is a vital link in the process of seeking and recruiting and we should be grateful if you would arrange to put this item of business on your club’s next committee or board meeting agenda.

A seasoned referee in your area would be more than happy to attend your club by appointment to discuss the matter in more detail; however, in the interim, if you are aware of any active coaches or players considering retirement at the close of this Season 2015/2016, or any other club member who has retired through injury but still wants to maintain contact with our tremendous love of Rugby Union, please contact Gordon Burtenshaw (Head of Recruitment), whose contact details are listed below.
