CRIGGLESTONE ALL BLACKS 14

Both sides served up a cracker in a classic game of two halves which saw Crigglestone All Blacks sneak home 14-10 after extra time over East Hull in a game neither side deserved to lose and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the duration of the game.
The All Blacks who looked the bigger of the two sides got off to a great start from the off and opened the scoring on two minutes when Oliver Greensmith drove through the East Hull defence to score an unconverted try.
The All Blacks continued to attack with some slick handling moves with Kain Oldroyd pulling the strings bringing his backs and forwards into the game superbly. East Hull had hardly touched the ball and not been in the opposition’s half when they conceded a penalty on six minutes. Bradley McDermott drove over from the play he ball from close range and Callum Barker added the extras for a 10-0 lead.
The All Blacks continued to attack and some last gasp tackling by East Hull kept them in the game up to the break.
The All Blacks continued the way they had in the second half and East Hulls defence held there line superbly but as it looked as if the All Blacks would take the trophy East Hull stormed back with five minutes remaining.
Some slick play saw them force them force the All Blacks to drop out and from the resulting kick Jordan Wynne caught the high ball and galloped over the line after 35 minutes to make it 10-4.
East Hull had the momentum and stormed back downfield pressing the All Blacks line and the pressure worked in the final minute as Callum Tranmer switched the direction of play and scored to the right of the posts. Joe Rustill who missed his first conversion coolly chipped it over to level the scores and seconds later the whistle went.
The All Blacks got the ball on resumption and went upfield to score the winning try and won worthy to win any game. On the last tackle Oldroyd put a cut out ball to Jack Duggan on the wing 40 metres from the try line. Hugging the touchline he scorched down the wing beating off three defenders before diving in at the corner to make it 14-10.
East Hull looked visibly deflated after their comeback and tried to get back into the game but the All Blacks tightened up to ensure no second coming to win the cup.
Kain Oldroyd of Crigglestone All Blacks was named man of the match.
