The Community
As a Club, East Kilbride is committed to developing and maintaining bonds with the local community at large.
To this end, over the course of each year, East Kilbride gets involved with a variety of events aimed at giving back to the larger community.
These include:
Primary school coaching: Over an 8 week period, the club sends their qualified coaches into local primary schools to teach the kids the rudiments of the "kwik cricket" game. This culminates in a festival at Torrance House between the various schools which sees one crowned East Kilbride Champions. A great time is had by all the kids and results in quite a few new "cricketers".
Disability Day: In concert with East Kilbride Youth Disability Sports Club, the club on a twice yearly basis holds cricket days as part of a wider program of sports that the club offers to children with disabilities. This is a great hit with both the kids and the coaches alike with the day being alot of fun.
