EKCC Vs Clydesdale
EKCC won
2012 Season for East Kilbride Cricket club kicked of yesterday they were hosted by Clydesdale for a friendly game. EKCC won the toss and elected to bat on a slow and two paced wicket. Opener money played a fine knock of 80 runs who was joined in later on my new recruit Joshua aka JJ who scored quick fire 60 odd runs and showed lots of prospect. East Kilbride finished up with 237 bowled out after 37 over’s where as after such good middle order batting should have scored at least 250 plus runs.
Clydesdale got to somewhat good start helped by EK fielders as 3-4 catches were dropped in the space of first 5-6 over where Stewart Kampman was very unlucky as he should have grabbed 2-3 wickets easily.Umair Khan another new recruit for EK broke the partnership by getting his first wicket out of many this year. That brought spin from both ends where Shah and Ross operating pretty tightly and Ross got wickets at regular interval and finished up with 3 wickets in the end. Clydesdale captain played a fine knock but run rate kept on creeping up and up and he was bowled in the end by Umair K for 60, who in the end finished up with 3 wickets as well on his debut.Clydesdale finished up with 210 after 40 overs.
All in all a good win for EK to start the season, ground fielding was good but catches needs to be grabbed to get teams out quickly and support the bowlers. The Scottish cup starts next week with EK travelling to Stoneywood-Dyce.
