Act fast! New deadline (20 July) for Autumn Test tickets

The deadline for applying/paying for Autumn test tickets has been revised - it is now 20 July 2017 (including payment). Do not delay - detail below.

I have had to revise arrangements for ordering and paying for tickets for Scotland’s Autumn test series in November 2017. If you planned to apply for tickets, please read the rest of this note and take action by the deadline (20 July) or you may not be able to secure any tickets.

Why change arrangements? Simply because, for the first time in living memory, at least two and possibly all three of the Autumn Tests look like being sell outs and the SRU ticket office is now processing tickets for rugby club members on a “first come, first served” basis. You may have seen recently in the media that the public tickets for New Zealand have sold out and this also seems likely to happen for Australia. So demand for “club tickets” will be sky high!

I have discussed timing of our application with the SRU Ticket Office and they have advised that we should submit it as soon as possible. So I am now setting a revised deadline for applications WITH payment to me for the New Zealand and Australia matches of 20 July 2017. And to make my life simpler, we will apply the same deadline to the Samoa match as well!

There is still no cast iron guarantee that all our applications will be successful. The SRU will approve allocations that are broadly the same as take ups for Autumn tests in previous years. This makes things a bit uncertain as we have traditionally had limited interest in Autumn tests. Roughly buying between 10 and 22 tickets each year across three tests!

Already, for this Autumn, I have had expressions of interest for 19 tickets. I will (as ever) try to juggle our supply as best and fairly as I can but regular consumers of Autumn (& if necessary Six Nations) tickets will generally get preference.

So please let me know asap and certainly by 20 July (with payment), if you want tickets for the matches listed below. Clearly, given the tight demand, you may need to accept a different price category from the one you apply for. Refunds will of course be provided in the event that we do not secure all that we ask for.

Payment can be in cash, cheque or bank transfer, payable to me (NOT EKRFC: easier if I don’t have to liaise with the rugby treasurer but rest assured, I do report ticket sales to him!). I can supply details of my bank account on request.

I am (naturally!) top of the list for tickets but expressions of interest have also already been received from Dean Marriott, Billy Little, Gordon Bell and David Eadie [all members of EKRFC] and Alan Urquhart [a regular buyer of tickets]. Guys – I will try to give you priority but much depends on who else applies. BUT to achieve this, I need your (and everybody else’s) money by 20 July.

EKRFC Club Ticket Link – the SRU recently restored the EKRFC ticket link which credits ticket purchases (and commission) direct to our club and allows club members to apply direct online for tickets from the public sale of tickets which would not affect our club allocation. However, as public tickets for the New Zealand match have sold out, the ticket link won’t allow you to buy tickets for NZ! You may however still be able to use it for Australia, and certainly Samoa, so if you prefer to try this route, click here to try to order and pay for tickets online.

And now the usual boring bit:

SRU conditions are tickets are for the personal use of EKRFC, its members and their immediate family. They do not allow resale of tickets or sales on the black market. All tickets numbers are recorded - EKRFC will be disciplined if any of our tickets are found in the possession of touts, hospitality companies or advertised/sold through ebay or similar websites. Any application (however transmitted) implies your acceptance of the purchasing conditions. Anyone believed to flout these rules will be excluded from all future ticket purchases via EKRFC.
