Sports Club's increased membership fees proposal was approved at last night's AGM (28-27 votes). Increase doesn't affect EKRFC until Aug 15. More belo

The Sports Club's Management Committee proposal to introduce substantial increases in membership fees with effect from January 2015 was approved by 28-27 votes last night. This meant that the Rugby Club's counter proposal was lost.

The increases do not affect rugby membership fees until August 2015 so we have a bit of time to further assess the likely impact. The Rugby Club Committee will look at all aspects of our operation, income and expenditure and consult with players, coaches, members etc.

This will include paying memberships throughout the year by monthly standing orders (in the Senior Club as the Academy already do this); reviewing sponsorship arrangements including the allocation of support to players; and other areas.

If anyone has any suggestions, let me know or talk to one of your Committee members (whether senior or Academy or both!!).

We need to continue to focus on making the rugby experience at Torrance House the best we can.

I may be living in a land of delusion but I would also encourage all our players and coaches to consider "who wants to play for or coach at Cambuslang or Hamilton or the like - we are EK!!"

The 2015 increases are :

Juniors - up £20
Intermediates (18-21 year olds) - up £15
Ordinary (Adult) - up £40
Family - up £60
Retired Ordinary - £30
Retired Family - £35

Treasurer - Catriona Sherlock (re-elected)
