Fundraising
Our goal in 2010-11 is to raise the necessary funds to go alongside RFU grants and Sport England grants to improve the quality of floodlighting on the training area adjacent to the first team pitch. The lights and towers were second hand when obtained over 12 years ago and run off mobile generators. The aim is to have new light fitments, a distribution board, a fixed generator and lighting in the Portakabin so that when training begins, at the flick of a switch, good quality floodlighting is available. A sponsored walk is planned for December, from which we hope to raise over £2000. Ex players are being invited to donate too.
It is hoped the lights will benefit not just the rugby club but other clubs in the village and encourage more young people to take up a sport.
