East London do the double over local rivals Millwall

East London ended 2014 with a 19-0 local derby win over Millwall at the Memorial Ground in West Ham on Saturday.
The home side had their nearest rivals under pressure from the off and dominated the early possession especially in the line-outs.
They took the lead when quick thinking from scrum-half Kieran Oliver took them up the field and then put right wing Joe Kelly in for a try under the posts. Oliver kicked the conversion.
East London almost scored again when they disrupted another Millwall line-out and went over the try line but were unable to ground the ball.
The visitors weren't helped when their fly-half was yellow carded following an incident in a ruck. East London failed to convert the penalty and went into half-time 7-0 ahead.
The second period went much the same as the first with Millwall penned in their own half. A tap and go penalty put East London over the try line but the ball wasn't grounded. The home side turned the resulting scrum on the five metre line and number eight Otto Hejmala scored the try which Kieran Oliver converted.
With less than 15 minutes remaining hooker Will Masters scored the third try after a line-out 20 metres out. Oliver hit the post with the conversion.
Having now done the double this season over Millwall, East London go into 2015 in sixth place in Essex League One on 25 points. They are next in action on 10 January at Maldon who are a place below them in the table.
East London vice-chairman Simon Crick said: "It was great to end 2014 with a good solid team performance. There were some stand out individuals in both the forwards and backs. We wish everyone connected with East London Rugby Club a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year."
