East Preston suffered a home defeat by league leaders Haywards Heath 0-2
Two first half goals secured the three points for Haywards Heath in their quest for promotion to the Bostik League.
On a difficult playing surface at the Lashmar which made any good football almost impossible EP conceded a couple of poor goals to go down to Heath who have now won eight games in a row.
Apart from the two goals the young EP side competed well against their vastly more experienced visitors.
The home sides best chance came with ten minutes to go when from a free kick Jake Heryet played in Luke Brodie whose fierce shot hit a defender on the line and rebounded to safety.
Manager Bob Paine said 'A tough game for us today against a very experienced side who are going well at the moment. Thought we could have done better on both their goals but we competed well generally. No complaints about our work rate and attitude we gave it everything but were beaten by the better side on the day and their is no disgrace in that'.
