History
The Eastside Lions Youth Rugby Club was founded in 2007 and is comprised of players, parents and coaches from Bellevue, Kirkland, Mercer Island, North Bend, Redmond, & outlying areas. We have more than doubled in participants in each year of our existence and expect this trend to continue in the coming years.
Much more than just a "sport club," the Lions are family.
Our mission is to develop champions and build community through the growth and support of youth rugby.
We provide opportunities for boys and girls, ages 7-18 (and enrolled in high school), to play rugby in a safe, fun, competitive and positive environment.
ELRFC is a member of Rugby Washington, the local youth and high school league.
Rugby, the fastest growing sport in the US, is the ideal complimentary sport for the American athlete. Rugby develops fitness, mental & physical toughness, decision-making and is a whole lot of fun.
Our season officially runs from January to May, with voluntary, preseason Touch played in the Fall. Everyone is welcome to join the Lions family.
