SAM Higgins says he hasn’t finished yet after he scored his 150th goal for East Thurrock United.

The prolific striker, who became the club’s record goalscorer at the start of the season, has been in lethal form so far this term and scored his 29th goal of the campaign in the 1-0 win over Leiston on Saturday.

And Higgins, 24, says he is now focussed on adding to the tally as he aims to fire Rocks into the play-offs come May.

“It was a good goal,” he admitted, having taken a touch and shot in off the far post after a ball over the top from Lewis Smith. “I have scored a few but that was a particularly good one and it was more important as it came at a vital time.

“It was a very close game and we knew it was going to be a match with only a few chances. And, luckily, when a chance dropped to us we were able to take it.

“I think we deserved to get the win and it keeps us heading the right way up the table.”

And Higgins, who scored on his debut for the club on October 10, 2009 against Wingate & Finchley, says he ranks the goal alongside his volley against Grays Athletic earlier in the season.

“The volley at Grays earlier in the season was quite a good one,” said the hotshot. “And I scored a good one against Canvey last year too, but it’s all about the next game.
