Sadly we have to report that John Plom passed away early on Sunday morning.

Although it's fair to say that Plommy seldom actually watched a Rocks game, he was very much a big part of the club over the years.

A larger than life character in more ways than one, John was one of the first people to sign up for club membership when we opened Rookery Hill back in 1984, and he will be fondly remembered by most people who have passed through the club over the past 34 or so years.

Plommy contributed much to the club over the years, and that included organising fund raising events, along with "gently" cajoling people into joining his £1 a goal scheme, which raised considerable income for the playing side over a number of years.

One things' for sure, the Rocks Bar will never be quite the same from now on.

We send our sincere condolences to John's family, who are very much in our thoughts at this sad time.

RIP Plommy.
