Eagles skipper Sam Bradley reflects on last weekend’s solid result away at Knaresborough in his latest Captains View.

We went into the game missing three key players in Andy Cooper, Charlie Flaherty, and Luke Harrop. Thankfully we have a strong squad and the squad depth was key for the game. All the players that came in for those three did a brilliant job and were class throughout the match.

The Knaresborough goal could be put down to a lack of concentration, apart from that goal we were defensively sound, and everyone did their jobs really well.

All of the lads are buzzing to have got our third win in a row, our form so far this year has been brilliant and we want to keep it going for as long as possible. The atmosphere around the club after the win is great, everyone is feeling really positive and it shows in our performances!

It's great to see Jonny back in the side, he's had a frustrating time so far with injuries and setbacks, and he deserved that goal. His performance was excellent throughout the half, and the goal will have his confidence through the roof.

Our second half performance as a team was immense, I don't think Knaresborough had a shot on target throughout the whole half, everybody was putting their bodies on the line and showing massive commitment.

Knaresborough probably had more possession but our shape was well organised throughout the match so they couldn't break us down as a unit. They are a solid side that will be in and around the play-offs come the end of the season, so it was a massive win for us away from home that we're all really happy with.

It was also great to see a young bench for the game, the young boys can get some first-hand experience of what’s to come for them if they keep working hard and that’s good to see.

Yet again Sean (Regan) is left with some tough decisions to make with key players coming back into the squad, but it's a good headache for him to have.

We’re all looking forward to the game on Saturday against Gainsbrough, where we can hopefully pick up another three points in front of a good home crowd.

See you at the game,
Sam Bradley (Club Captain)
