Billy Swiatek was the main man in the dug out on Saturday afternoon, and was understandably happy to oversee a win.

Assistant manager Billy Swiatek did well to galvanize his side at half time and oversee an excellent comeback in the absence of manager Sean Regan, and he stopped to analyze his team’s performance following the game.

After being asked if it was his half time team talk, or the second half substitutions that changed the team’s performance after a poor first half, Billy replied; “A bit of both. The boys needed telling at half time, in no certain terms, that they weren’t good enough.”

“They were walking around the pitch, no effort, no energy and they were told that at half time, and they came out and were outstanding in the second half and I couldn’t fault them.”

Luke Harrop was the next subject, after coming on in the second half and scoring the equalizer and assisting the third goal.

Speaking on his performance, Billy stated “Luke is a massive player for us, it was just one of those choices up front, it was different from the first half and it was clearly Luke Harrop’s day, and he changed the game.”

Billy then discussed the training focus, after acknowledging scoring goals isn’t a problem, but defending sometimes can be. After being asked if defending is a big focus in training, Billy said “It is big time, and it’s not so much conceding, it’s the silly errors we make to concede the goals that we’re trying to work on.”

He added “It’s more concentration and mentality than bad defending, they just need to switch on straight away, like for their second goal we switched off and they scored.”

Finally, Billy talked about Anil Singh scoring the goal to put Eccleshill in the lead in the 88th minute, and how his substitutions changed the game; “It makes you feel better, and all credit to the boys for that.”

He went on to say; “I’m proud for Anil because he’s waited for his chance and when he came on we were confident in his ability, and we’re happy for him.”
