Antony Brown returned to haunt his old club with a late match winner to secure a huge three points for the Eagles, see what he said after the game.

It was a game full of emotions for Antony Brown who returned to Campion for the first time since leaving to join Eccleshill United earlier in the season, and he made sure he left a lasting impact on the game, scoring a late winner for the Eagles.

Speaking after the final whistle the Eagles striker claimed: "It feels absolutely amazing, obviously coming back here, I didn't have a great time here but to come and get the winner I can't be any happier."

It wasn't an easy victory for Sean Regan's men though, with Campion forcing Eccleshill to work for the three points. The hosts took the lead early in the second half and Brown reflected ongoing behind in the game and the pressure Campion put on.

He said: "They put us under pressure for a good 15-20 minutes but we rode that out. We had a lot of chances and I am guilty of that myself, I had a few that I should have put away, but the aim was to stay persistent and that's what we did."

Thankfully, Eccleshill responded to falling behind well and a sensational strike from Luke Harrop fired his side level just five minutes later, and Brown felt the instant response was crucial in the game.

"The longer you leave it the more panicky it gets so getting the goal straight away helped massively and we were already on the front foot anyway and they backed off so it helped," Brown stated.

Another player who had a big impact on the game was Tom Rose who came on from the bench during the second half and instantly began linking up with Brown, and the Eagles frontman had plenty of praise for the attacking midfielder.

Brown said: "I've played with him for a number of years and he has always been sharp, he's direct and goes straight forward and it worked today."

Of course, for Brown, the main talking point was his 80th-minute header which sealed the victory for the Eagles, not just providing a derby day win but a huge three points in the squad's bid for automatic promotion.

"Personally, that's my favorite goal of the season by far. I didn't have the best time here but most importantly it is the win for us because we want promotion no matter what. But for me personally, that's my favorite of the season," he said.

Following the goal, there was still work to be done with Campion throwing men forward for the equalizer and the Eagles striker was pleased with how the team defended and stated how important the final three games now are.

Brown said: "This season we are hungry, we all want to go up that's what our aim is and it actually showed at the end as well, chasing after everything and winning every battle, it's great to see. We have to take one game at a time now and that's all we can do."
