Eagles manager Sean Regan was pleased after seeing his side win again on Saturday afternoon, and he shared his thoughts after the match.

Eccleshill United FC manager Sean Regan was very pleased after seeing his team come from behind twice to win an enthralling spectacle on Saturday afternoon, and he shared his thoughts following the game.

After being asked if he was happy with his side winning three games on the trot, and picking up form as the season grows closer, Sean replied; “Yeah, I agree. The sort of discussion we’ve had is exactly that, in regards to the mentality of our approach.”

He added “We’ve been really positive moving forward, and the results count because we need to take it into the season. Everything is going to be really positive at the start, in the Saturday game against Teversal.”

The sloppy manner of the win was the next topic, as at times The Eagles were too lazy in possession and struggled to make chances. Sean shared his thoughts with the following quote “I think we could have kept the ball a little bit better, and everything was pedestrian, that was the word we used at half time.”

He went on to say “However, they changed their mentality in the second half, the tempo was better and they kept the ball a little bit better.”

Adam Turner got onto the scoresheet in the game to notch his first goal of pre-season, and Sean was happy for him, as he stated “I think there’s goals in and around everywhere in the team so Turner to add to that is a positive thing.”

“However, he’s a different type of player, his hold up play is good and he’s done that well, but he anticipated that and got on the end of it, which is a good thing for him to take into next week.”

With Eccleshill starting to build up form at the right time, the management and players alike will be ready and raring to go in the new season, and if pre-season form is anything to go by, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
