The Eagles will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season and extend their cup run on Wednesday as they host Hall Road Rangers at the Mitton Group Stadium in the second round of the NCEL League Cup.

After defeating Westella in the opening round just last week with an impressive 3-1 victory, Eccleshill will be hoping to repeat that victory to continue in the cup as the Eagles chase potential silverware.

The season has got off to the perfect start for Sean Regan's side with three victories in the opening three games which has seen the squad grow in confidence after a strong pre-season.

With Eccleshill proving to be a dangerous threat in an attacking sense, with Adam Turner scoring in every game so far (including a Round One hatrick) and Luke Harrop scoring a brace to guide Eccleshill to league victory the Eagles will be looking to cause problems to the visitors.

The battle between the attacking trio (with Marcus Edwards yet to open his account) to become this season's top scorer is a positive one for Regan to see unfold and with several midfielders and defenders having the ability to add to the goals tally there will be plenty for Hall Road Rangers to think about defensively.

At the back things have been solid so far too, with Joe Stead suffering an injury prior to the season new goalkeeper, Lewis Hindley has been given his chance to prove himself and has so far delivered.

Hindley produced an excellent display during the weekend's 3-2 victory against Grimsby Borough where he produced countless second half saves that ensured the three points stayed in Bradford.

Our opponents will be set to provide a tough test for Eccleshill as they are one of just three teams (The others being made up of ourselves and Campion) who are undefeated in the opening set of games.

Rangers will be aiming to create a cup run of their own but not if Regan's side has anything to do with it. Despite Regan admitting his focus is the league this season, that doesn't mean he is brushing the Cup off lightly.

Regan stated how he wants to win "Every game" and that the cup provides him with a chance to rotate his squad which gives others a chance to show what they are capable of.

Pre-Season showcased the strength in depth of the Eccleshill squad this year and the players rotated will be aiming to impress to continue giving Regan difficult choices to make on a gamely basis.

With momentum behind both clubs early on neither side wants to be derailed and with cup runs providing a financial benefit to NCEL clubs there is plenty to play for in what should be an entertaining cup fixture.
