The Eagles will be back in action tomorrow as the club hosts Farsley Celtic at the Mitton Group Stadium looking to pick up its first victory of pre-season in what is sure to be another tough test for Sean Regan's squad.
Eccleshill competed well for the opening hour against Shaw Lane on Monday, but the performance levels dropped allowing the visitors to pick up a 6-1 victory, something that Regan will be looking for his side to change should they fall behind at the weekend.
Once again the fixture will provide the Eccleshill boss with the chance to take a look at several trialist players, several of whom all got an opportunity against Shaw Lane whilst also examining his existing squad from last season.
Despite the unflattering scoreline during the Eagles first outing, there were plenty of positives to take out of the game as well which the squad will be hoping to expand on against Farsley. Marcus Edwards looked incredibly sharp against Shaw Lane, causing problems for his opposing defenders everytime he got the ball with his pace and attacking instinct and he will be aiming to cause a threat once again.
As with every pre-season friendly, the focus will be on experimenting, not only with players but also with formations which are something Regan made the most of against Shaw Lane as he prepares the squad for the season ahead. The other main aspect of the game is to build fitness, with the squad only having 90 minutes under their belts the match with Farsley gives players another opportunity to build match fitness.
Both Charlie Flaherty and Anil Singh could also be in contention to return to the squad after missing the opening fixture of the summer through injuries, with both men bolstering Regan's options should they be available.
Sean Regan has recognised the threat that Farsley possess, stating that it will be "another tough test," but seeing his side compete against stronger opposition is exactly what the boss wanted from his pre-season and once again the Eagles will have a chance to show what they are capable of.
