Eccleshill United go into their final game of pre-season on Wednesday night, against a solid Brighouse Town side who have also had a tough pre-season campaign.
The Eagles go into the game off the back of their first win in pre-season, and it was a confident one with Sean Regan's side running out 8-2 winners against a Curzon Ashton Select XI.
Goals from Jonny Irving (2), Marcus Edwards (2), Chris Lever (2), Sam Bradley, and Andy Cooper helped Eccleshill to the win, and has given them the perfect preparation for the upcoming game.
Brighouse's last outing saw them defeated 2-1 by one of the promoted sides from the NCEL Division One last season, Penistone Church. Vill Powell's side have won twice and lost twice in their pre-season campaign, but they will want to record their third win on Wednesday evening.
Brighouse currently play their football in the Evo Stik Northern Premier League Division One North, two divisions above The Eagles. This match will prove another difficult test for Eccleshill but one they will be looking forward to.
Eagles gaffer Sean Regan is confident going into the game, and believes his side are ready for the test; "Things are shaping up well as long as we don't get any injuries but we are progressing really well and it is heading in the right direction for what we want."
"Every game is tough and Brighouse will bring another big test for us but as long as we keep doing what we are doing we will be absolutely fine and we will be ready."
The game against Brighouse will mark the end of pre-season for The Eagles, a campaign which has seen them face the likes of Shaw Lane, Farsley Celtic, Bradford City and Curzon Ashton.
Attention will turn to Eccleshill's season opener on Saturday 5th August, when they travel down to Yorkshire Amateurs to get their season underway.
Before their season begins however, Eccleshill must try and overcome a strong Brighouse side. The game will be played at the Mitton Group Stadium on Wednesday evening, kicking off at 7:30pm.
Both sides will be going into the clash with a point to prove, perfectly poising it to be a hotly contested affair.
