The Eagles kick start the new NCEL Division One campaign with a short trip to local rivals Yorkshire Amateurs.
After an impressive pre-season that saw Eccleshill United improve both in terms of fitness and ability as each game went by and Sean Regan will now be hoping his side kick start the league campaign with a bang.
Sean gave his side a difficult pre-season with tests against teams in higher leagues, yet the Eagles showcased the same form that ended last season confidently and now head into the league opener on the back of two impressive victories.
With a full squad at his disposal, Sean will have a headache choosing a starting 11 after the performances shown by the team with everyone making an impact over summer to earn a starting shirt.
After working on several new formations, Sean and new Assistant Manager; Des Hamilton have plenty of options for what is set to be a difficult away game.
The Eagles now have a set and steady back four that will be hoping to keep Yorkshire Amateur's big summer signing, Ashley Flynn at bay. The striker moved from AFC Emley to Yorkshire over the summer and will no doubt be a major threat to Sam Bradley and his defensive partners with his goal scoring exploits being well known to those within the league.
Flynn has continued his impressive career during pre-season but the Eagles have plenty attacking options of their own with Marcus Edwards in fine form over pre-season and Chris Lever finding the back of the net on multiple occasions.
Eccleshill managed to maintain its squad from last season including Player of the Year; Charlie Flaherty and Jonny Irving who will both play vital roles within the midfield.
Last season saw a five goal thriller take place in Yorkshire with the Eagles narrowly returning with the three points after a last minute Bradley goal. The squad gained the double over Yorkshire with a 2-0 win at the Mitton Group Stadium and Sean Regan will be hoping history repeats itself, allowing his side to start the season as strong as possible.
