It is winner takes all on Monday night, when The Eagles go toe to toe with the leagues top scorers, Yorkshire Amateurs. The winner of the game will take the final automatic promotion spot, so it promises fireworks.
The away side go into the game off the back of a storming 6-1 win at home against East Yorkshire Carnegie, with The Eagles' last outing seeing them hand out a 9-0 drubbing at home to FC Bolsover. Both sides are firing on all cylinders, and will need to be on their A game to secure the points on Monday night.
Yorkshire Amateurs currently sit in second, tied on points with The Eagles, but with a much superior goal difference. There are many permutations for automatic promotion, with Grimsby Borough still in the picture, but Sean Regan and his side just have to win and they are up.
The Eagles are no strangers to high pressure situations, and the squad will be brimming with confidence following Wednesday nights emphatic win. The players and management will be raring to go, as they know they are 90 minutes away from a potentially fantastic promotion campaign.
Eccleshill have failed to beat Yorkshire on two occasions already this season. The opening game of the season saw the two sides battle out a thrilling 3-3 clash in a game that Eccleshill felt hard done by, having dominated the majority of the game. But Yorkshire then sent the Eagles packing in the cup later on in the season in a fixture that they dominated.
With both sides knowing each other very well it is certainly going to be a close encounter and the Eagles will need to be in top form to provide the necessary competition. The high stakes of the game will certainly make it an interesting watch, which games between these sides always are.
The visitors boast one of the best attacks in the NCEL, with Ashley Flynn a notable name, having proved to be a major threat throughout his year's in the NCEL and currently sitting as the league's top scorer, but Sam Bradley will likely be confident his back four can calm that storm, with Dom Smith hoping to have another Man of the Match-worthy performance.
On the other hand, The Eagles have Luke Harrop coming into the game off the back of a four goal haul against Bolsover, who is up there in the top scorer standings, as is talismanic midfielder Jonny Irving.
Eccleshill United will be continuing our recent entry offer, with all Bradford City season ticket holders guaranteed free entry* if they show their season ticket on the gate, so be sure to come and support The Eagles in one of the clubs biggest games in our history.
It promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of the NCEL Division One's brightest sides, both of which will be looking to secure a historic victory and promotion to the NCEL Premier Division.
