28/3/2014 - Weekly round-up from ENRFC Captain, Jason Thompson

I trust you’ve enjoyed a relaxing couple of weeks away from the club and are raring to go for an action packed summer. Thanks to the guys who played against Robinson College, Cambridge. Although I’ve yet to be present to play against them myself, I’ve been involved in organising the games for their tours to us in recent years. The fact that one remaining guy in the college who toured in 2011 remembered how much they enjoyed Edinburgh Northern is testament to the roll-over spirit we maintain no matter who joins or leaves us. Long may these rugby connections continue.

Saturday 28th marks Mrs Leatham’s 30th birthday to be held at the Bunker. The invite goes out to all Northerners and whoever they want to bring along. Jake has asked for assistance on the bar and you’ll be made use of particularly if you’re on bar crew for that week.

As if one party wasn't enough we have a full day on Saturday 5th April. Tankards 7s will take place with teams picked based on who turns up. Winners of the Tankards must abide by the rules for the year (see document attached). Following that we’re opening up for a Ladies Race Night to coincide with the Grand National. Get the invites out to all the loved ones and head along for cash prizes!

Training for 7s shall commence on Tuesday 1st April. Usual script.
