TOUR DESTINATION NOW KAUNAS - READ ON FOR MORE INFORMATION....

Lads,

After this morning’s meeting it was decided we would tour to Kaunas in Lithuania – this is instead of Gdansk due to flight prices. Dates still 24th May to the 27th May. It is advisable to take the Monday off work if you have never toured before!

Please do not start checking flights so as to inflate the cost potentially.

Flights are direct with Ryanair,
Thu24 May 12, 08:10 Depart, 12:55 Arrive
Sun27 May 12, 06:55 Depart, 07:45 Arrive – YES THAT’S 655AM DEPARTURE!! There are lots of flights from Kaunas to the UK later that day if the worst happened!!

We need everyone to have paid £200 by the 1st of Feb so we can book the flights for tour. If you want to pay the whole amount of £280 that would be great.

We may need to add £20 or so onto the cost depending on how flights come in after group booking increases the cost, however, we are trying to keep the kit cost lower and find cheap accommodation so we stay within budget.

The £20 extra would be well spent anyway as beer prices are only about £1 a pint over there…..

All you need to do now is make sure you are paid up to minimum of £200 by 1st Feb.

If you have not yet signed up you have until the 1st Feb to do so. Please contact Chris Aiken and Nick Gdula for payment queries and ensure they have the following details correct,

Full Name on Passport
Passport Number
Date of Birth
Nationality

Jason / Stewart, Do you have a contact at Broughton you could ask for info on Kaunas? They went their last year. Rugby contacts, info on nightlife etc…

PASS THIS EMAIL ONTO ANYONE YOU THINK MAY BE INTERESTED IN TOURING NOT ON LIST

Regards
Tony

ORIGINAL EMAIL BELOW...
Gentlemen of Northern,

Many of you are aware that, as a club, we enjoy a special status above all other clubs in Scotland.

No, Im not talking about the sexyness of our rugby, the swanky decor of our clubhouse or the aesthetic appeal of our cheerleaders (Le Grand Beouff and Scotty). Im talking about that most special event in every Northern members calendar The End of Season Tour.

ENRFCs legendary tours are without doubt the best of their kind and I am delighted to announce that we will once again be fighting on foreign fields and descending on Eastern Europe at the end of this season.

Rule number one for any tour, never return to the scene of the crime! But hey, rules are there to be broken and no one will disagree with this decision.

This year it is Destination Sopot & Gdansk a city first conquered by Northern in 2006 and the Polish equivalent of Saint-Tropez but your space dollars will go much further here. It has been dubbed the 'playground to jetsetters, fashion models, and millionaires', ok thats how Saint-Tropez may be described but all 3 are as accurate for Sopot....! Wilson will enjoy filing you in on all the boring pieces of info like how it has the longest wooden pier in Europe blah blah blah.... or ask Chris and Paddy if you need to be filled in on more interesting parts, like what the nightlife has to offer aka Slozzfest capital of the world.... We promise you won’t be disappointed!

Sopot and Gdansk promises to be a cheap tour with beer prices between £1 - £1.50 a pint giving you even more reason to sign up and book a place on this seasons tour!

We are planning to fly direct from Edinburgh Airport on Thursday 24th May and return on the Monday 28th May. It is highly recommended to take the Tuesday off work as well giving you a day to recover from alcohol poisoning and Gav Ford’s bad chat. We are aiming to keep the total tour cost around £280, which will cover flights, accommodation and fashionable tour kit with any leftover forming the start of the tour beer kitty.

Alas, there will also be the principles of rugby to uphold and its not all about the booze and womanising. We are contacting rugby clubs in Gdansk with the aim of scheduling games for the Saturday along with hopefully some beach rugby on one of the other days.

Are you interested? Of course you are. Anyone who has been on a Northern tour will tell you its the best money and time they have ever spent on a trip abroad. So dont delay, sign up today!

Heres what you need to do:

Notify your interest by emailing Chris Aiken (club captain) c_aiken@hotmail.co.uk or Nick Gdula scray247@hotmail.com both will be signing you up and taking payments….

When you email we need the following information

Full Name on Passport
Email Address
Passport Number
DOB
Nationality
Start Date and Expiry on Passport (also good to check your passport is in date!)
Mobile Number
Tour Rugby Top Size
Tour Rugby T Shirt / Polo Shirt size

To confirm your place we will need an initial non refundable deposit of £50 by the end of September.

The rest will then be payable in installments as follows: If you can pay more upfront we would encourage this were possible as it means bookings can be made quicker.

Non Refundable Deposit Payable by end September £50
End of October 2011 £50
End of November 2011 £50
End of January 2012 £50
End of February 2012 £50
End of March 2012 £30
Total £280

This year late payments and constant chasing will result in a fee of £10 for each late payment which will be added to the drinking kitty. Anyone who has had the job of chasing payments and signing people up has better things to do than spending their evenings chasing you lot! Organising tours should be enjoyable, your tour committee should not have to spend their time chasing you for payments and details and spend more time researching what to do when we are over there.... so ensure you stick to the payment plans and provide all the information above promptly!

We need a good approximate idea of numbers attending at an early stage in order to get a good deal on flights/accommodation. This is why we need the £50 deposit up front. Payment can be made either by cash or cheque to ENRFC. Brian Otter / Chris Aiken and Nick Gdula will be collecting deposits throughout the next month.

Also note all tourists must have paid their full subscriptions (Stew Jurrasic will be communicating on these shortly).

Yours Excitedly
