Eds field 3 teams!!

for the first time this season Edwardians field 3 teams

Today (sat 26 November) was a great day for Edwardians Rugby Club, in that for the first time in a long time 3 teams were fielded in one afternoon of rugby.

1st team - won their cup game with a 9 try thrashing against Skegness, including a hat trick from club captain Michael Bourke! The road to Twickenham is once again still alive!

2nd team - Unfortunately lost 13-0 to a very strong Berkswell and Balsall team. Full match report can be found under the 2nd team section.

3rd team - Had an impressive 54-7 victory against local rivals Kings Norton. Players all ages and standards played alongside each other, with youngster Nick Corky getting a superb hat-trick whilst Club Treasurer Huw Lloyd barrelled over for a score as well. There were several debutants for the club, with one fella even playing his first ever game of rugby, demonstrating that Edwardians are fast becoming the club of choice for players in the Midlands area.

This was a fantastic day for the club and clearly shows the club is continuing to grow in strength and size, as there are not many sides in the Midlands that can proudly field 3 full strength sides and yet remain dominant on so many levels. A big thanks to all the committee, admin and coaching staff for making this happen and everyone is looking forward to further success this year.
