Egremont rangers took on local Rivals in the 2nd Round of the barla national cup, Egremont eventually running out comfortable winners

A strong Rangers side made easy work of a Hornets side who were shy of a few of their First Teamers
Everyone was expecting a tough contest but this wasn't to be as Egremont raced into an 18-0 lead after just 15 minutes with tries from the returning Peter Bewsher, Ben Walker and Matt Henson all goaled by Brookes. On 20 minutes Wath Brow crossed for their solitary try and that was their lot as the Rangers showed their power with further tries from Barnes Brookes and Big prop Atkinson, to give a half time score of 32-6.
Things were very much the same in the 2nd half when on 46 minutes McDonald carved the Brow defence open with a pass to weatherhall who fed Barnes to cross for his 2nd try brookes converted 38-4, then Weatherhall crossed himself carrying 3 defenders over for a strong try.
The Brow rallied and stuck gamely to the task, but after another long break out McDonald showed his class by dummying his way over the line 48-4.
Next over was young prop Brad Hailes with a deserved try, 52 -4 both him and new recruit Tom Horner were the cornerstone for this victory and both typified Egremonts determination to win.
Macdonald controlled things with great support from his forwards and Paul Corkhill.
MOM was No8 Tom Horner on his debut
So Egremont march on to the last 8 of this prestigious competition.
