Rangers keep playoff hopes alive after impressive win over high flying Siddal.

Egremont welcomed high flying Siddal to their turf looking to make it 2/2 in this seasons matches and Siddal hoping to put pressure on West Hull at the top. Siddal opened the scoring through a Steven Hope try on the third minute, extras added 6-0. Egremonts heads stayed up though and JP Brocklebank kicked through with Kevin Brown receiving and touching down, and Brocklebank converting to make the scores level 6-6. The next 20 minutes were a penalty and knock-onathon. With both teams gaining and losing posssssion in turn. A quick play the ball and a fine pass from Paul Corkhill allowed Rhys Davies to dance around the Siddal defence and touch down just before the half time bell. Brocklebank duly added the extras and Egremont ended the first half 12-6 up. Egremont opened the second half in the same fashion this time with half back Paul Corkhill touching down from a Matthew Bewsher pick up and pass, once again conversion added and the score line was 18-6. Egremont seemed to be dominating on all parts of the park now with kicks going downfield turning Siddal over, big tackles and handoffs. But Siddal had other things in mind and Chester Butler touched down in the corner, conversion missed 18-10. 6 minutes later JP Brocklebank scored on the back of a Paul Corkhill break, passing to Kevin Brown and then passing on to the stand off who strolled in under the sticks. Ever busy Brocklebank added his final kick of the afternoon to make it 24-10. Egremont travel away to Thatto Heath next week looking to make the playoffs.
