oiler's demolish stockport 57 nil!

by martin titherington

good weekend for the junior section, rounded off with good win for the oiler's.

Stockport defeated kersal the previous week so we were expecting a hard run out, neither dave ,myself or the stockport coach expected to see the one sided contest that followed.
In the past against poor opposition we have laboured to a win, expending to much energy to gain our point's,after the caldy defeat we changed our style
concentrating on our strength's instead of our weaknesses.Stockport aren't a weak side,we could say they didn't turn up but an excuse still wouldn't diminish the fact they were simply outclassed by better opposition and in fairness stockport agreed.
I'm not going to expand on the change of gameplan, loose lip's but whatever the the game plan without a bunch of committed lad's who want to fight for each other it count's for nothing,I'm not going to mention try scorer's,best players, best tackle's or most stylish mother's,we all know we won today because the fox was up early and had the pitch marked out by 9 so dave didn't stress and as a result induce fear in the boy's.
Seriously, the boy's did well today and they deserve the praise but today was merely the start of a bigger challenge we've set ourselve's,it mean's nothing now, focus on Chester next week,we need to raise it again and maybe slim might feel he's got a chance.
57 nil,forget it,see you wednesday.
