Over 80 enthusiastic children aged 6 to 14 years, attended the London Irish two day training camp at Ellingham and Ringwood RFC. The children enjoyed two fantastic days of coaching from the London Irish Premiership Rugby Club.

Six London Irish coaches, many of whom have represented England, were on hand to reenforce the core values of rugby. They concentrated on ball handling, passing, tag rugby skills for the younger players and tackling skills for the older players. The London Irish coaches commented on how good the standard of skills were from the Ellingham and Ringwood players - a real testament to the club’s excellent coaching staff.

At the end of the two days, Ellingham and Ringwood RFC were awarded the status of Official Club Partner to London Irish - one of only 12 clubs in the South of England to receive such a prestigious status. This will allow Ellingham and Ringwood RFC to work with London Irish to further develop the rugby offered at the club. With the Rugby World Cup coming to England in 2015, it will help all children in the area who are interested in rugby, to get access to some of the best rugby coaching in the county.
