On Wednesday, the former Ellingham & Ringwood under 18’s girl’s fly half Charlotte Benson was part of the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) team that won the British Universities (BUCS) final at Twickenham by 30 points to 5 against last year’s winners Leeds Carnegie.

Charlotte was cheered on by a coach load of pupils from Ringwood School, who particularly enjoyed the break that she made at their end of the ground, which created the opportunity for the England wing Kay Wilson to score a good try in the corner.

Fittingly, the trophy was presented by former UWIC student John Inverdale and the picture shows Charlotte with the trophy and some of the pupils from Ringwood School after the game.
