This re-arranged fixture didn't bode well when 3 of our top 4 players were not available for selection. Elstead took to the field to bat having lost the toss, with a threadbare team of 8, with Ben Sheppard making a guest appearance as 9th man. The innings started brightly enough with Jesse taking the score to 10 in the second over before being bowled by Jake for 7 runs. Meanwhile, at the other end David grafted away, facing 10 balls without scoring a run until falling to the same bowler for a duck. With Ross coming to the crease, the score trundled to 15 for 2 off 4 overs. Ross fell next ball having faced 3 balls, including a boundary and single run which left him on 5, bowled by James. This bought the pairing of Max and Jerome in, Elsteads no.4 & no.5 batsmen. Sharp calling and running by Max got the score ticking over again, but Jerome holed out to be caught after receiving just 5 balls having scored 5. Elstead were by now 33 for 4 off 7 overs. Just when the remaining batsmen should have been digging in to preserve their wickets, it was at this point the invisible swarm of mosquitos decended, with 4 wickets pole-axed for 1 run! Joseph was bowled by Matty for 4 runs, Chad following the same fate, swatting at a ball and falling for a golden duck next ball. Morgan nicked a run before being bowled by James, with Ben falling the following ball, clean bowled for a golden duck, leaving Max once again stranded without a partner for his second innings, having batted for the longest (11 balls) on an unbeaten 5. Poor shot selection and play discipline threw the first innings away, the score finishing on 34 all out off 8.4 overs, with still 62 balls still to come!

Elstead came out to field, keen to make life as difficult as possible for Liphook, knowing the match was beyond them bar a miracle and started well. Joseph took to the field as 5th choice wicket keeper, and threw himself about, pouncing on everything, leaping around like a salmon swimming upstream. David made the breakthough in the 3rd over, clean bowling Liphook's Joe for 3 runs. James came in and ably partnered the Liphook opener Alex, until with the score on 23 in the 6th over substitute fielder Jake, caught his team-mate Alex for 10 runs again driving off David's bowling. Jerome bowled tightly in the 7th over, just donning 2 runs. The 8th over saw Matty run out for a duck off Chad's bowling, but liphook came home on the 8.4th over, James hitting a 4 to take the score onto 35.

As usual, the damage was done in the first innings, the low batting total giving our bowlers nothing to play with in the return innings.

Elstead 34 All out off 8.4 overs
Liphook & Ripsley 35 off 8.4 overs
